Live painting for every kind of celebration

Hi, I'm Ananya, and I'd love to paint for you! I take pride in distilling your special day into a true heirloom piece — the setting, the feeling, the materials, the story. In my work, I love to combine realism and abstraction. What sets Studio Saffron apart is the Multimedia piece: weaving real elements - dried flowers, scrap fabric, invitations, menus, polaroids, glitter, you name it- into the piece. You bring the party, I'll save the paint.

About the Artist

Painted with joy,
made to last forever

I came to live painting through storytelling. As a storyboard artist trained at SCAD, I've spent years learning to capture not just what a moment looks like — but what it feels like. My work is layered, luminous, semi-abstract, built around the light in your venue, the cultural threads of your day, the energy only you and the people you love could create together.

Questions & Answers

Everything you need
to know

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! I'm based in Chicago but available for events across the US. Travel fees apply for events more than [X] miles from Chicago — I'll include exact travel costs in your custom quote.

How far in advance should I book?

For live event painting, I recommend booking at least [X] months in advance — popular dates fill up quickly. For commissioned portraits, [X] weeks is usually enough, though I'm happy to discuss rush options if your timeline is tighter.

What's the live painting experience like for guests?

It tends to become one of the most talked-about moments of the evening. I set up in a spot with a good view of the room, and guests love stopping by to watch the painting develop throughout the night. By the end of the reception, it's usually surrounded by a small crowd.

How long does a commissioned portrait take?

Typically 2–4 weeks from receiving your photos and final approval of the composition. I'll keep you updated throughout and share progress photos at key stages.

Can I request specific colors, elements, or cultural symbols?

Absolutely — and I love when clients do. Whether that's incorporating a dupatta's specific color, your floral arrangements, a meaningful symbol, or the general vibe of your decor, all of it feeds into the painting. The more you tell me, the more personal the piece becomes.

Do you offer prints or digital copies?

Yes. Every commission includes high-resolution digital files of the finished piece. Print rights are yours to use for personal purposes — cards, decor, gifts. I also offer museum-quality prints as an add-on.

What if my wedding date changes?

Life happens. If your date changes, reach out as soon as possible and I'll do my best to accommodate. Date changes are handled on a case-by-case basis; details are outlined in the booking agreement.

Can I see the painting before it's finished?

For commissioned pieces, yes — I share progress photos at key stages and welcome feedback. For live painting at events, the piece develops in real time; you'll literally be able to watch it come to life.
